Artist information

Pat Frantz is a graduate of California State University-Long Beach. She received a BA degree in general art, and went on to obtain an MA degree in sculptural ceramics with an emphasis on color theory.

She attended Pilchuck Glass School for two summers, which introduced her to working glass in a torch. Her work has been exhibited in the U.S., Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Finland, England and Japan.

Pat lives in Washington state with her husband Mike who operates Frantz Art Glass. The picture to the right is of Pat's studio at a previous residence.

Examples of Pat's work or techniques have been published in many glass and bead periodicals, major books covering glass beads and technical reference manuals for torch work.

Teaching

Pat teaches classes and workships in a variety of locations throughout the year. See the Calender for upcoming dates and places.

Lapidary Journal: A Pat Frantz bead was featured in a photo in an article on the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show in their Dec. 2002 issue, to promote the different bead shows that now take place as part of the whole Tucson experience. Lapidary Journal has been using a photo of a Dichroic Rose' bead in their magazine for at least the last 5 years. It most often is used on the subscription card that pulls out of the magazine
